Dr Raj Mallipeddi is the Director of The Dermatological Surgery and Laser Unit at St John's Institute of Dermatology at St Thomas' Hospital, London. He is also a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon at the Lister Hospital, London, where he treats privately.
Dr Mallipeddi qualified from Imperial College School of medicine and completed specialist training in dermatology at St John's Institute of Dermatology, London. He was awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree for the study of squamous cell carcinoma in epidermolysis bullosa. Upon completion of his dermatology training in the UK, he undertook a prestigious procedural dermatology fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, USA which provided subspecialist training in Mohs micrographic surgery, laser surgery and cosmetic dermatology. Dr Mallipeddi has completed advanced training in Mohs micrographic surgery certified by The American College of Mohs Surgery, which is the organisation founded by Dr Frederic E Mohs, the creator of the technique. He is one of only a small number of dermatologists in the UK who has accredited fellowship training in this technique.
Dr Mallipeddi has a specialist interest in skin cancer, mole checks with dermoscopy, Mohs micrographic surgey, photodynamic therapy, laser surgery and cosmetic dermatology.
