Ten thousand men die every year in the UK from prostate cancer and The Prostate Cancer Charity is calling on people to remember those who have died and raise money by taking part in the 10,000 Challenge this March.
To take part in the 10,000 Challenge you can do whatever you want that involves the number 10,000; suggestions include a 10,000ft skydive, raising 10,000 pennies (£100) or running 10,000 metres (10k). Other events taking place include poster and leaflet campaigns, talks and social events.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men but if the disease is caught early enough this does not have to be a death sentence. If you are concerned about the risks or benefits of screening for prostate cancer please read this excellent article by Consultant Urological Surgeon, Mr Rick Popert.
