Private treatment options and leading edge technology

Researchers in Japan have developed an ultra-thin, transparent film which is biodegradable and can replace surgical stitches resulting in scar-free surgery.

A biodegradable film approximately 20 nanometres thick has been developed to improve both cosmetic outcome and operating times. Not only will this lead to a better appearance post-surgery for cosmetic reasons but it will prevent internal scarring which currently leads to dangerous adhesions and technically difficult tissue sutures.

The nanofilm is highly adhesive, flexible and also transparent. totalhealth Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Mr Ash Mosahebi, has written an informative, yet easy to read, article explaining the uses and development of this ultra-modern nanotechnology.
