Q: I have a tender lump on my neck. What could it be?

Answer:

Usually tender lumps represent infective or inflamed areas. This cause should be sought for in a patients history and examination. Thankfully the majority of cases of a tender lump are related to an infective cause, however, one must be still aware that occasionally more worrying pathology may present in this fashion.
