As reported in Pharma Times the Swiss drugmaker Roche has decided not to renew its membership of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry. Roche running rough shod over the ABPI puts a question mark over the viability of self-regulation in the UK and raises two (at least) questions:
1) Should big pharma be allowed to self-regulate?
2) Can big pharma be allowed to financially intimidate its own regulators?
