Dr Lisa Anderson is an experienced GP in Northwest London. She qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, University of London in 1986. After her GP training she joined a six partner practice in Hampstead Garden Suburb in 1993 and still practises there under the NHS. Having had a private practice in North London, she was delighted to be asked to continue to develop this at the Wellington Hospital in St John’s Wood.
Lisa sees patients of all ages, from babies to elderly, both male and female, and all nationalities. A GP has to be a jack of all trades and hence she has developed an extensive network of specialists on whom she can call for immediate advice or referral.
Lisa believes in treating each person as an individual and focusing on the prevention of ill health as well as the day-to-day management of acute problems and chronic disease. She encourages those in need to have an annual health screen to identify any potential problem areas.
At the Wellington Hospital, having adequate time with your patient is the most important part of the Consultation, as it is by listening to your patient that you pick up the clues necessary for diagnosis. The excellent on-site diagnostics enable her to obtain most investigations, including scans, the same day.
Although Lisa deals with all aspects of health, she has additional diplomas in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. Over the years she has developed a further interest in diabetes, high blood pressure and treatment of depression and stress-related illnesses.
Lisa also has a flourishing medical practice within the music industry and is also on the BBC approved list of doctors. This work has given her experience with high profile individuals in a highly confidential setting.
