endometrial hyperplasia

A condition in which there is an abnormal increase in the cells lining the uterus (endometrium). Some types may progress to uterine cancer.

endometrial tuberculosis

A secondary complication of tuberculosis.

endometrioma

A cyst that is formed when endometrial tissue, the membrane that makes up the inner layer of the uterine wall, grows in the ovaries.

endometriosis

A condition in which tissue that normally lines the uterus (womb) of a woman is found outside the uterus or in other parts of the body.

endometritis

Inflammation of the endometrium, the lining of the uterus.

endometrium

The layer of tissue lining the uterus.

endoscope

A tube-like viewing instrument that is inserted into a body cavity to investigate or treat disorders.

endoscopy

Examination of the inside of the body using a tube equipped with a light source and either a small camera or an optical system.

The introduction of a liquid into the bowel via the anus either to deliver a drug or to wash out the contents of the rectum.

A condition where the small bowel pushes down from within the abdominal cavity onto the back wall of the vagina.

A form of arthritis associated with chronic inflammatory bowel diseases.

entropion

The turning in of the edges of the eyelids so that the lashes rub against the cornea and conjunctiva.
