An investigation by the British Dental Association released today claims that NHS dental care across the UK is struggling to maintain services for special care patients.
Seventy-two per cent of the dentists questioned for the study believe that the range of services being offered is reducing and over half of respondents feel that the quality of the services is suffering.
Due to budget cuts and reorganisation many dental posts have not been replaced which is leading to a decline in services, particularly in regards to the care for vulnerable individuals. The British Dental Association is urging the Primary Care Trusts to stop cuts to services.
